Full Time - 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm, plus standby and overtime opportunities
Salary
Up to £37,680 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with potential earnings increase of £8,000-£10,000 through standby and overtime
About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Coppermills Water Treatment Site. As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our water treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference to Thames Water's environmental impact, actively helping to reduce pollution from our sites. You will investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process, which may involve diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents. You will work on various equipment including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and control systems, while completing statutory checks and always adhering to Health and Safety guidance.
Experience
NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification. A valid driving license is essential. Be a time-served apprentice with considerable experience in Mechanical systems. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety procedures are essential.

You will take ownership of responding quickly to faults, being curious to fully understand the problem, and identifying the best solution. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective teamwork and proactive engagement in site improvements.
Qualifications
NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical engineering qualification is required.
