38 hours per week, Monday – Friday 07:30-16:17, with every second Friday off.

£27,465 per annum, depending on level of experience.
About the Role
We currently have a great opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to take on the important role of Slow Sand Filter Operator. As a successful candidate, you will play a key part in the water treatment process at Coppermills. You will be working in a small, dedicated team responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the Slow Sand Filters (SSF) at our Water Treatment Works, ensuring the highest levels of clean drinking water for our customers. Your responsibilities will include routine checks, maintenance, and operating mobile plant to ensure that services are delivered to time, cost, and quality standards. Key tasks include skimming filters, the removal/relaying of granular activated carbon (GAC), and the resanding of SSFs. You will also operate specialist mobile plants, including sand skimmers, loading shovels, dumpers, and excavators, while adhering to legal and company health, safety, and hygiene regulations.
Experience
Experience with 360 Excavator, Loading Shovel, and Sand Skimmer is advantageous, but training will be provided.
About you
You should be a self-motivated individual who can immerse themselves in the team, disciplined, and eager to learn. A can-do attitude is essential, as this role can be demanding but rewarding. You must take ownership of responding quickly to faults, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and possess basic literacy, numeracy, and digital skills. A 7-tonne dumper licence is preferable, or you should be prepared to obtain it. A full, clean UK driving licence is also desirable.
Qualifications
No specific qualifications are required, but readiness to be trained in safety procedures is essential.
