Up to £37,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with potential earnings increase of £8,000 - £10,000 through standby and overtime
About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Hampton Water Treatment Works (WTW). As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process, which may involve diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents. You will work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and associated control gear, while completing statutory checks and always working safely in compliance with Health and Safety guidance.
Experience
ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering qualification is crucial. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential.
About you
You should be a self-motivated individual who can immerse yourself into the team, disciplined, eager to learn, and possess a can-do attitude. You must take ownership of responding quickly to faults, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be proactive in recommending improvements around the site.
Qualifications
A valid driving licence is essential, and physical fitness is required as the work involves confined spaces with appropriate training.
