Salary
Up to £37,000 per annum, with potential earnings increase of £8,000 - £10,000 upon completion of essential company training

About the Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Mechanical Technician to join our Maintenance team at our Beckton Sewage Treatment Works (STW). As the successful candidate, your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our waste treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will investigate plant failures and perform repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve diagnosing complex faults and performing repairs during incidents. You will work on various equipment including motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and associated control gear. Completing statutory checks and always working safely in compliance with Health and Safety guidance and procedures is essential.

Experience
ONC/HNC in engineering, NVQ, or C&G level 3 in mechanical engineering qualification is crucial. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are also essential.

You should be a self-motivated individual who can immerse oneself into the team, disciplined, eager to learn, and possess a can-do attitude. You must take ownership of responding quickly to faults and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with the team. Teamwork is vital, as we are one team with shared goals.

Qualifications
A valid driving licence is essential, and physical fitness is required as the work involves confined spaces. You must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures and have knowledge of health and safety standards.
