About the Role
We are recruiting Mechanical and Electrical Technicians to join our Water Production team and work out of our Chingford or Coppermills Water Treatment Works. As a successful candidate, you will work in multi-disciplinary teams and carry out scheduled, planned, reactive, out-of-hours, and emergency maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdown. This is an excellent opportunity to make a real difference. You will investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents. You will also carry out planned maintenance work on electrical equipment, provide technical advice to the broader team, and use various technical equipment such as pumps, 3-phase motors, electronic control systems, and chemical handling equipment.
Experience
To be a time-served apprentice with an NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical and electrical qualifications. Experience working in water or a similar industry with transferable skills. Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including various pumps, within the utility industry would be beneficial.
About you
18TH Edition would be beneficial but not a requirement; willingness to obtain it during probation is essential. Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are crucial. The work will require physical fitness and the ability to work in restricted areas. A valid driving licence is essential. You should be self-motivated, disciplined, and eager to learn from your team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective teamwork and proactive engagement in site improvements.
Qualifications
Knowledge and awareness of health and safety standards are required. Must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures.
