About the Role
We are looking for a London Tideway Tunnels Control Room Operator to join Thames Water permanently. This role is required as part of a shift team to commission and operate the London Tideway Tunnels, the largest wastewater tunnel system in the UK. Your responsibilities will include protecting the River Thames from combined sewer overflows, using SCADA to monitor the performance of all critical SPS and the London Tideway Tunnels, and proactively identifying and reporting the unavailability of key assets. You will be responsible for the overall operation of the London Tideway Tunnels, monitoring weather patterns, responding to reactive situations, completing reports, maintaining electronic shift logs, and ensuring compliance with company health and safety policies.

Experience
Experience in user process control is desirable. Experience using similar SCADA or GIS systems is desirable. Knowledge of Water Industry and Wastewater Network Operations, including Combined sewers, Overflows, Storm Relief Sewers, and Pumping Stations, is desirable. A basic understanding of Hydraulic Systems.

About you
Ability to accurately analyse data and present conclusions. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Proactive, organised, and methodical approach. Fault-finding and problem-solving skills. Competent with IT systems, including Excel, Word, email, and PowerPoint. Ability to work and make key decisions in demanding situations. A FULL UK Driving Licence is essential due to the nature of the role.
