Full Time - 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am – 3:36 pm plus standby & overtime opportunities.
Salary
Up to £45,600 per annum, with potential earnings increase of £8,000-£10,000 per annum through standby and overtime.
About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Instrumentation, Control & Automation (ICA) technician to join our Water Production Operations Team based in the SE London region. This is a mobile role, requiring work on various Water Treatment Works around Brixton, Streatham, Croydon, Orpington, and Dartford. The role includes installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs of water production assets, including level instrumentation, flow meters, and turbidity monitors. You will work with SCADA systems, PLCs, and process control networks, liaising with and supervising contractors and suppliers as necessary. This vital role involves investigating asset failures and implementing repairs quickly to avoid interruptions to the water supply process. You will provide specialist technical advice and training support for technical apprentices.
Experience
A strong practical understanding of operational assets and control systems is essential. Solid understanding of SCADA systems and experience with relay logic and PLCs (Rockwell & Allen Bradley) is required. Ability to read and fault find from circuit diagrams and previous experience with inverter drives is ideal.
About you
Applicants should ideally have an HNC/Level 4 education or 6+ years’ experience, including time-served apprenticeship within Control, Instrumentation, and Automation. A valid driving licence is essential due to the nature of the role. You should have a safety-conscious mindset, be self-motivated, disciplined, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Teamwork and proactivity are key attributes for this role.

No specific qualifications are required beyond the aforementioned experience and education, but a strong desire to learn and improve is essential.
