
Location
Lower Edmonton, with the possibility of being based at any Thames Water site in the Thames Valley and London area.
Hours
Full Time - 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Standby rota included with additional payment and opportunities for overtime at time and a half or double rates.
Salary
Up to £54,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the Role
We currently have a great opportunity for you to join our waste treatment team as a Generator Field Service Engineer. Your role will involve maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and optimizing the performance of a fleet of Combined Heat and Power (CHP) spark ignition biogas engines located across various Thames Water sites. Key responsibilities include carrying out planned and unplanned maintenance, ensuring safety and efficiency in operations, completing service records accurately, identifying parts for order, and demonstrating a zero-compromise attitude towards health and safety while ensuring excellent customer service.
Experience
In-depth knowledge of all aspects of the operation and maintenance of internal combustion engines. Proven hands-on experience with internal combustion engines and associated systems.
About you
Competent to work to a high level of quality, either alone or as part of a team. Good communication and interpersonal skills are essential. A full UK driving licence is required.
Qualifications
Ideally, NVQ/C&G or engine manufacturer's qualification in mechanical engineering. An electrical qualification is an advantage but not essential. Experience with Natural/Bio/AD Gas engines, CHP, and gas systems is desirable but not essential.
