Salary
Up to £39,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience, with potential earnings increase of £8,000-£10,000 from standby and overtime
About the Role
We have a great opportunity for a career-minded individual to join our Northeast Water Productions Area team as an Electrical Technician. Your role will be to ensure that all equipment at our Water Treatment Works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify, or repair electrical and some mechanical equipment. You will work in a multi-discipline team and be responsible for carrying out scheduled, unscheduled, and emergency maintenance work on electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimize plant breakdowns.
What you’ll be doing as the Electrical Technician
- Investigate plant failures and carry out repairs in a timely and efficient manner to avoid interruptions to the process.
- This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents.
- Provide technical advice and training or support for technical trainees if required.
- Work on equipment such as motors, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, control gear, electronic control systems, and chemical handling equipment.
Experience
Significant experience in electrical systems, ideally in an industrial environment or the water industry.

Qualifications
NVQ or C&G level 3 in Electrical Engineering is essential. 18th Edition qualification is desirable, but training can be provided. A valid driving license is required due to frequent travel within the Northeast Water Productions Area.
