About the Role
The Application Test Engineer will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their field with comprehensive engineering and technical knowledge responsible for defining, managing, and delivering a coherent set of testing outcomes across multiple technologies. As a subject matter expert, they will create a best practice standard directly contributing to Thames Water's Turnaround plan. You will design and develop automated and manual testing procedures for new and existing products, collaborate with stakeholders to understand user/product requirements and specifications, create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases, execute and evaluate manual and automated test cases and report test results, identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved, develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet stakeholder needs, monitor debugging process results, and provide feedback to the development team. Stay up to date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Experience
MUST have a UK valid driving licence.

About you
Essential: Educated to HNC level or equivalent in a relevant technical area, stakeholder engagement, extensive direct experience of test & development within a complex organisation, technical report writing, understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and methodologies like Agile and DevOps, analytical skills, and attention to detail. Desirable: Experience in managing conflicting demands and able to prioritise own and team's demands, experience of customer (internal & external) relationship management, strong problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot and resolve issues, knowledge of testing methodologies and principles, and testing cloud-based systems and services.
