About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the UK Overseas Territories team as a Project Coordinator on a three-year contract, working on some of the RSPB’s most impactful conservation projects. You will support work on two of the world's most remote inhabited islands: Tristan da Cunha in the South Atlantic and the Pitcairn Islands in the South Pacific. Reporting to and collaborating with the Project Manager, you will help ensure project activities are completed on time, within budget, and with appropriate reporting. Excellent communication and listening skills are crucial for maintaining positive relations with our on-island partners, which is essential for our long-term conservation success. You should be highly organized, possess excellent time management skills, and be adaptable to a wide range of activities under time pressure, including workshop planning, marine equipment purchasing, blog writing, steering group coordination, report preparation, and budget management. A significant part of this role will involve supporting the planning for a rat eradication project on the Pitcairn Islands, scheduled for 2028, which will require substantial logistical planning for an expedition to the islands in 2026.

Experience

About you
Knowledge of Tristan da Cunha and the UK Overseas Territories; experience of working in partnership with small island communities; knowledge of Invasive Alien Species and Biosecurity; experience of organizing training events, workshops, or facilitated discussions and meetings; experience of producing written materials, newsletters, and similar project-related communications; experience of budget management.
